This leather tote bag is meticulously handcrafted using traditional techniques and hand-stitched with durable waxed thread for lasting strength. Featuring a rolled top edge, an interior pocket, key ring clip, brass feet with double-thickness base and handles, it combines practicality with timeless elegance.

The leather, sourced from J&FJ Baker of Devon, England, is of unmatched quality and this specific leather not only is absolutely beautiful, but has a rather wonderful story behind it.
In 1786 a ship called the Matta Catharina, carrying hemp and leather sank just off the Devon/Cornwall coast. The leather it was carrying was a Russian leather that widely considered the finest in the world, tanned with birch oil, it was supple, rich and water resistant. In 1973 the wreck was discovered along with hundreds of leather hide bundles, preserved in the silt 30 metres below the surface.
